Genius (formerly Rap Genius) strives to be a collection of any kind of textual information in the world, which is both created and annotated by members of its community. It began with a focus on music and lyrics but has since expanded to include all kinds of content - musical, literary, historical, political and commentary. Similar to Wikipedia, any user can expand the content by adding annotations to it. Genius also includes a gaming aspect allowing a points-based scoring system, endowing users with higher scores greater permissions such as editing and moderator capabilities.
